Engaged Economy

Sparked by a good month of #Occupy movement, people are engaged against, networking against. Say what?

Much of what people are against happens behind closed doors. Fine for private matters, but there are no private politics. There should not be. The people occupy - against. They are engaged and do gain attention.

 

Cashierless checkout, #unoccupied

Self-service reaches a new level in Japan. Seen in a store of the LOPIA chain, these self-checkout terminals combine a touch screen, barcode scanner, digital scales, cash feeds (coin and paper) and card payment slots, plus a  hanger bar for the shopping bag that must be used to start the process. Not appearing in the photos are the overhead cameras, likely used as a cheat deterrent.  

If money itself becomes the commodity

.. a few of us who know how to game the system can win big.  Knowledge is power. Money rules. This was accepted.
