The Germans appoint committees or run a design contest, draw detailed plans, put them up for public comment, award the contract by bidding, fence off the area, lay the pavement, plant the greenery, seed the grass and finally have a ceremonial opening.

Weeks later, dirt tracks appear where people trampled across the lawn and authorities complain.

So they erect these signs "Betreten Verboten" (off limits, no step) you see above. With little or no visible effect.

Messaging via twitter more often than by telephone and e-mail combined these days, I have been following the #Junto hashtag for a while, and more recently #Kaizenblog.

• #Junto is a discussion platform enabling open collaboration, concept courtesy of @VenessaMiemis. She wrote it up on 2010-03-22 and her inspiring blog post pulled 109 responses (as of this writing), following a  snowcrash with 102 responses.  We connected virtually on 2010-03-25 via skype. Does it matter when a stranger reads your blog? (Thanks, Seth)
• #Kaizenblog is a weekly Twitter event hosted by @ConversationAge and @3keyscoach, an hour of intensive exchange revolving around an announced business improvement topic. Last Friday it was about Design of Business Plan.

Mindmap, Conceptmap, Prezi

Why mindmaps are limited and could be called "outline maps", why concept maps add a dimension, and why Prezi adds more dimensions, making it more of a mind map than most prior tools.

Presumptions:

• The purpose of intelligence is prediction (Venessa Miemis)  
• The analytic mind we use daily thinks in concepts, feelings, and in rich imagery, along similarities and differences. 
  
• Intelligence comprises the capability to assign relative importance. 
• The better the information management tool we use matches our thinking habits, the easier and more intuitive it is to get results with it.
